Proud To Be an American: by Rhett Reader, NOCVTC Board Member
I have always been proud to be an American and there have been times during my life when those feelings have been solidified by significant events. Everyone has a time and a moment they can remember when an event was so profound it made them stop and realize how great it is to be alive in the U.S.A. I have had several of them and another one happened on October 10th. With Rich LaLonde - President of Summit Place Kia, Dave LaLonde - Vice President of Auto Credit Express, Pat Kittle - Independence Township Supervisor and President of the Friends of the North Oakland County Veterans Treatment Court Board of Directors, Judges Kelly Kostin and Mark Switalski and Oakland County Sheriff Mike Bouchard, I was once again reminded of what a great community and country we live in. LaLonde Charities and their truly dedicated group of professionals presented a check in the amount of $132,900 to help the Veterans. It was nothing short of an act of pure heart and generosity. It’s times like this when selfless acts of kindness intersects with the moment and you realize how truly blessed we are. It feels so good to be involved with a group of people who were doing everything they can to make a difference in the lives of our Veterans. Thank you LaLonde family, and the great team at LaLonde Charities, Summit Place Kia, and Auto Credit Express for your tremendous donation, sacrifice and support. The Friends of the North Oakland County Veterans Treatment Court is making a difference and saving Veteran’s lives thanks to you!
